Hi dudes. Im using P4 1.6a Northwood CPU. It has að stock fan and I have added 3 fans into my dragon case. I run the CPU at 2.2 Ghz and the temp is from 42-50°C. Is that too hot? When I run the CPU at 1.6 Ghz, it´s ar 40-47°C. Does anyone know how hot it can get until it will be unstable?

42-50c is not bad for a 600mhz overclock. Coupla suggestions, make sure you keep positive pressure inside the case, fans blowing both in and out. And maybe ditch the stock HSF and get an aftermarket fan and some arctic silver 3 paste, much better for cooling your CPU than stock most of the time. Normally you can get anywhere from 8-10 degree drop by switching. Keep us posted on any changes and results.

Hi there,
42-50 Celsius degrees isn't too hot. Try not to get it above 55-60 degrees. Just wondering, what cooler and motherboard are you using? Any room temps available?
(mine, a P4 2.4B, goes up to 45-47 Celsius degrees with room temps around 30-32 degrees)

The stock Intel coolers are pretty good if you ask me. Even when it comes down to overclocking. I'd try instead to simply touch the heatsink with a finger while the CPU is fully loaded (100% usage). This is the best way to figure if the mainboard's sensor (actually, the Winbond chip) is screwed up or not...
Maybe your mainboard's sensor shows you different numbers/temps...

yeah ofcourse. I dont keep my finger´s in my pocked playing with my **** . They are in the case. The heatsink is not hot when it´s fully loaded. it´s alittle above my body temp. so I think that the censor is ok. _________________ -= P4 1.6a @ 2.2 Ghz =-
