I recently purchased a new Asus A7N8-X Motherboard to solve my Geforce 4 crashing problems (power issue). I did have a Gigabyte motherboard.
I put my new board in and got a hanging problem,
"Verifiying DMI pool data..."
I got round this by changing Bios Cache settings and re-formatting my master boot record (fdisk /mbr).
I then got through to my Win XP startup screen.
However i then got a Blue screen telling me to check my hard drives, then i cannot get into windows.
AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
I know its not a problem with anything I have, as i can put the Gigabyte motherboard in and everything works again.
Any suggestions?
Anyboadies help will be most helpfull, especially as i have recently purchased Freelancer, and now cannot play it, talk about hell on earth.
Then there is Republic coming out soon, oh man, please save me!

Yes In order to change your motherboard in xp where you are going to a new ide controller you must on your old motherboard change your ide controller to the generic once changed do not restart uninstall any drivers for the gigabyte board in add/remove programs in the control panel then shut it down move it to the other board then boot it into normal mode. It will boot into windows and seem to be froze do not restart it let it work it might take up to 10 min before it boots fully into windows. What it is doing is installing all your new drivers in the background. After into windows restart again to make sure it is going to work. Install all drivers for windows that don’t auto install and feel the joy of not losing anything. _________________ I am what I am and can not be anymore!!
