ALi, a Taiwan-based chipset designer, announced that it is licensing Rambus’s serial link interface for its future PCI Express applications.
ALi will integrate Rambus’s technology into its core logic chipsets, which serve as the communications link between various I/O peripherals and CPUs. Rambus’s technology provides the communications cell that implements the physical layer of the PCI Express standard, according to the company.
