SUNNYVALE, CA - APRIL 28, 2003 - AMD (NYSE:AMD) today announced that Hector Ruiz, president and chief executive officer of AMD, has been appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as a member of the President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC).
The NSTAC provides industry-based analyses and recommendations to the President and executive branch regarding policy and enhancements to national security and emergency preparedness (NS/EP) communications. In its advisory role to the President, the NSTAC provides input on a wide range of policy and technical issues related to telecommunications, information systems, information assurance, infrastructure protection and other NS/EP concerns.
