There are problems with this driver. When I installed it over the 42.01 driver, I got about a dozen messages saying that the file I was trying to replace was newer the the installation file. Doesn't really make sense, since these are (apparently) newer drivers. I'm reinstalling 42.01. I've never gotten these messages installing nVIDIA drivers before, and I don't trust them.

The file version warnings are completely normal when installing a DDI 8.1 driver over a DDI 9.0 driver. That's because DDI 9.0 drivers are versioned 6.14.xx.yyyy, while DDI 8.1 drivers are versioned 6.13.10.yyyy as per Microsoft. Microsoft apparently did not anticipate anyone would ever install a driver for an older DirectX version over one for a newer DirectX version.

BTW: You would not get any of these messages if you properly uninstalled the previous nVidia detonators using Control Panel -> Add/remove programs, as the nVidia driver setup program suggests...!
