While playing with UT2003 editor I realized a demo map with vehicles and I played around a little bit and I was able to add the vehicle to other maps.
For the ones interested:
- browse to UT2003Installationdirectory/System and execute UnrealEd.exe
- open the map named something like VehicleDemo
- in one of the viewports (possibly there will be 4 when you run the editor) find an object called trigger which is accompanied by another object with a red car icon. To move in the map keep the left mouse button or both buttons pressed -depending on the direction youd like to move- on a viewport and move the mouse. Trigger is a box-shaped thing with an arm on it.
- select both the trigger and the car symbolled object and copy them. To select both use ctrl key while clicking on them.
- open your favourite map and paste the trigger and the car on it. Be sure that they are not intersected by the map objects otherwise you wont be able to reach the trigger or the vehicle might not spawn appropriately.
- save the level with a different name and play it.
- using the vehicle is a little bit difficult since you have to control both the camera and the vehicle. One more difficulty is that the levels are not designed for the vehicle; generally it traps...
Actually you can play de demo level when you opened it with the editor. If you want to do so selecet Build->Run from the editors menu. I hope you enjoy it.
