MSI unveils its first ever DVD writer, MSI DR4-A, supporting DVD+R/+RW as well as DVD-R/-RW writing format in just one storage device. Users can select from 8 writing formats and speeds: DVD+R Write speed at 4X, DVD+RW Rewrite speed at 2.4X, DVD-R Write Speed at 4X, DVD-RW Rewrite speed at 2X, DVD-ROM Read speed at 12X, CD-R Write speed at 24X, CD-RW Rewrite speed at 10X, and CD-ROM Read speed at 40X. Features such as MSI ABS (Anti-Bumping System), MSI BURN-Proof and the latest MSI HD-BURN (High Density Burn) Technologies ensure the high quality of the written discs. Moreover, discs that have been created with MSI DR4-A can be played without a problem on every DVD-ROM and DVD Players.

MSI DR4-A features MSI ABS Technology (Anti-Bumping System) to absorb shocks and reduce vibrations. This technology makes the reading and writing of discs more accurate. Another great MSI feature, MSI BURN-Proof, prevents a buffer under run and minimizes writing failures. To ensure successful data recordings even better MSI DR4-A is embedded with 8MB Internal Buffer. MSI DR4-A also features the latest MSI HD-BURN (High Density Burn) writing technology. It allows users to write twice the capacity of specified CD-R discs. It is more convenient and saves the user money. For example, a user can store 1,400MB data onto 700MB CD-R disc.

MSI DR4-A is bundled with the popular Nero Recording software, PowerDVD Software, ShowBiz Software. ShowBiz Software is video editing software for use at home and allows users to feel like a movie director from Hollywood.

Further MSI DR4-A is easy to install, the design is based on Enhanced IDE/ATAPI interface.
