Reviews: In House Review: Albatron Gigi FX5600P Turbo

|
And here we are again with another review. Somebody stop us. :-)
Alright, this time we reviewed the FX5600P Turbo graphics card from Albatron. As usual here are the quotes, link and product image.

"Overclocking was again a nice surprise from Albatron. We were able to raise the core and memory clocks up to 350MHz, respectively 730MHz. We might have had better results with the core clock, but our sample featured the old chip packaging. By overclocking the card, a performance gain up to 12% was achieved or even 20% in UT2003 benchmark."

The time came and it is time for another review. We have done a review of a Dual Channel DDR400 TwinMOS kit.

" The TwinMOS modules overclocked up to DDR452 CAS2.5 3-3-7 with the voltage bumped to 2.7v which translates into a 226MHz DDR working frequency. With faster timings like CAS2 2-3-5, the kit achieved a 217MHz speed (DDR434)."

Software: VIA Hyperion 4in1 v4.48
Posted by viper on Wednesday, June 25 @ 09:19:39 CEST
|
|
VIA Hyperion drivers are suitable for any VIA chipset and all Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
Fixed:
- Fixed setup issue while S-ATA function was disabled under Win9x
Note: Win95/98/98SE are now relatively old operating systems, and drivers are no longer optimized for those operating systems. Many users of VIA chipsets who run Win95/98/98SE report that using an older version, such as VIA 4in1 version 4.35, they experience a more responsive system.

Here we are again with another review from TechConnect. We had the pleasure to review Albatron's latest mainboard release, the PX865PE PRO II. The board has many interesting features and it definitely deserves your attention.

"This is the first motherboard that features onboard sound with 8-channel output and 24/96 digital outputs. 7.1-channel support will enable playback of DVDs with Dolby Digital EX and DTS ES tracks, as well as enhancing gaming experience. The sound provided by Envy24PT/Six-TRAC is clearly better than any other onboard soundcard."

Google going down?
Posted by viper on Monday, June 16 @ 14:26:46 CEST
|
|
GSMBox writes: A rumour is spreading like the plague over the infinite paths of the Internet: Google has reached overbooking. The most popular creature in the virtual universe has space problems, or, more precisely, it could have them in the future. In fact, is seems that the most popular search engine in the world is about to reach the limit of its capacity of listed pages: 4,294,967,296. A numeric problem that is mainly due to a calculation error.
In Google’s giant database, each link can occupy the space of only 4 bytes. In other words, even though the home page of the system has counted something like three million web pages, it is probable that the engine is about to run out. Or, if they do not change their system of listing links, the Internet will continue to grow and expand behind Google’s back, but the new sites that will be created will be left out while its database will be full of an enormous quantity of obsolete pages that will crowd the pages of search results.

Software: TC Download: Windows Messenger 5.0 Beta 2 Build 0230
Posted by Adek on Friday, June 13 @ 15:35:27 CEST
|
|
MSFN reports :
As promised, we have a copy of Windows Messenger 5 Beta 2 for you to download!
Betaplace has incorrectly tagged this download as Build 0250 when in fact its Build 0230 according to the About Window. The filesize also weighs at a hefty 8.21 MB (What on earth are MS adding to it?!). BetaPlace also informs that they've addressed a number of issues, along with some changes in features.
Keep in mind this is a version of Messenger only for Windows XP, with the added features of corporate IM functionality such as the SIP Communications and Exchange Messaging services which is not present in MSN Messenger. But... it doesn't contain the new features of MSN Messenger 6, so take your pick! :-)
