Hardware: Apple iMac dead and gone...

The original iMac, famed for it's unique styling and intuitive OSX operating system, has finally been put to rest. Whilst being the saviour of the company, way back in 1998, the original iMac now looks old-fashioned and outdated in the eyes of new buyers, with both the new iMac and the eMac being more attractive options.

But until recently, there was one thing about the old iMac that hadn't been matched; it's price. Whilst the eMac was a wonderful system, with a 17" flatscreen monitor and the more powerful G4 processor, it was still a good few hundred pounds more expensive than the iMac.

Software: Primedius Privacy Package for Mac OS X 1.04

Primedius Privacy Package lets you surf the Web privately and securely without even your ISP or Network Administrator knowing which sites you visited. This is accomplished by using encrypted proxy channels between your computer and the Primedius secure proxy servers. This also serves to shield your IP address from the websites you visit. It works with existing proxy servers that you might presently be using to connect to the net, which allows you to use WebTunnel even from within corporate work environments.

Software: Apple launches online music service

APPLE HAS LAUNCHED an online music service, as expected. This is huge and potentially wonderful news for anyone interested in seeing a fair file sharing network built.

While industry executives have whined that they can't possibly compete with free illegal services, Apple may have just seen the illogic of that statement. Kazaa and its contemporaries are hardly perfect services.
